This Creo Mechanism Training Class is an introductory course focused on teaching the fundamentals of Kinematics & Rigid Body Dynamics using PTC Creo Simulate. To sign up for this public class, register using the link to the right. For private classes, custom curriculum, or more general information about our classes, please contact us.
Class Objective:
The primary objective of this PTC Creo Mechanism Training class is to teach participants Mechanism Design and Dynamic Analysis using PTC Creo MDX/MDO. Thus, upon completion of this course, participants will be able to set up, solve, and diagnose their own Kinematic and Dynamic Analyses in Creo.
Applicable Software:
PTC Creo Parametric: 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0 with the Mechanism Design Extension (MDX) and Mechanism Dynamics Option (MDO).
Topics Covered:
• Fundamentals of Kinematics and Dynamics
• Efficiently Managing assembly Degrees of Freedom
• Force, Mass, Damping, Stiffness, Gravity and Joint Friction
• Applications include Servo Motors, Belt/Chain Drives, Worm Gears, Rack and Pinion, and more.
After this class you will:
• Best Practices in Designing Assemblies with Multi DOF Joints: Slider, Planar, Ball, Bearing, Pin, Slot, etc.
• How to predict the speed and forces within a dynamically moving assembly.
• How to effectively design protective shrouds/covers around moving parts.
• How to Create High Quality Animations for Presentations, Sales and Marketing Collateral, Website Content, etc.
• How to import Mechanism results into Creo Simulate for Structural Analysis
Who Should Attend:
This class is specifically tailored for designers and those with a technical background and prior experience designing assemblies in PTC Creo Parametric. Therefore, an engineering degree is not a prerequisite, however, an open mind and a creative spirit are!
Small class size was helpful for additional coaching through the steps and class was also taught at a good pace for beginners. It was the right level of detail and practical experience - Roger B.
