Class Objective:

Fastway CAD CAE Training Goals IconThe primary objective of this Ansys Dynamics Training class is to teach participants Structural Dynamic Analysis using the Ansys Mechanical Workbench platform. Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to setup, solve, and diagnose their own Shock and Vibration Analyses in Ansys Mechanical Workbench.

Applicable Software:

Ansys workbench with the following licenses (or equivalent): Ansys Mechanical Pro, Ansys Mechanical Premium, or Ansys Mechanical Enterprise and a direct connection to Native CAD (Autodesk Inventor, PTC Creo, Solidworks, etc).

Topics Covered:

• Fundamentals of Vibration and Equations of State

• Statics vs. Dynamics in FEA Capabilities

• Time-based and frequency-based FEA approaches

• Using a Modal Analysis to optimize your design

• Dynamic Methodologies: Harmonic Vibration, Shock, Random Vibration, and Drop Test.

• Implicit vs. Explicit FEA

• Using FEA simplifications like Springs, Point Masses, and Constraint Equations.

After this class you will:

• The role of Dynamic FEA in Product Development

• Time Management, Troubleshooting, and Gaining Confidence as an FEA “Dynamicist”

• Best Practices in Analyzing Parts, Assemblies, and Managing Complex Geometries.

• Using a Modal Analysis to optimize your design

• Communicating with both Qualitative and Quantitative Results Post-processing

• Creating Sensors and Utilizing Design Optimization Techniques

• Finally, applications include CNC Machined Components, Sheet Metal, Plastic, Aerospace, Automotive, Consumer Electronics and more!

Who Should Attend:

Fastway CAD CAE PTC Creo Simulate Training Student IconThis class is specifically tailored for those with a technical background and prior experience using Ansys Workbench and Analyzing Static Structural FEA. Therefore, an engineering degree is not a prerequisite, however, it is strongly recommended. As always, an open mind, a creative spirit, and a strong Quantitative Comprehension of Mechanics of Materials are necessary!

The Instructor did a good job of walking through the fundamentals to lay a good foundation for the class, and explaining each topic thoroughly. - Michael C.
